River Access - Dartmouth & Kingswear
Dartmouth By Tender
The easiest place to launch a tender in Dartmouth is at the Higher Ferry slip on the North Embankment. From here it is less than 700 metres to the mouth of Old Mill Creek. There is no charge for using the slipway.
Kingswear - by Tender
In Kingswear there is a slipway beside the Royal Dart Yacht Club where it is possible to launch small boats. From here it is slightly over 1700 metres to the mouth of Old Mill creek. There is no charge for using this slipway. Dinghy rack rentals are available from Dart Harbour.
Car Parking - Dartmouth & Kingswear
Dartmouth
Parking is available around the town and in the main car park in the centre of town. Parking can be difficult particularly in the peak tourist season. There is also a very efficient park and ride scheme with parking on the edge of town. This operates from Easter until the end of October. More details can be found on the SHDC website.
Kingswear
The only car park at Kingswear is The Marina car park and it is very limited. There is also limited street parking.
Yacht Taxi
Dart Harbour (DHNA) operate an all year ship to shore/shore to ship yacht taxi service. This operates in the Dartmouth/Kingswear area between Noss and One Gun Point.
You should note that this service is not guaranteed and may be cancelled at short notice due to bad weather or operational requirements. There is no pre-booking allowed.
Operates daily except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
April: 08:00 – 19:00hrs
May – September: 08:00 – 23:00hrs
October: 08:00-19:00hrs
November – March: 10:00 – 16:00hrs

Dittisham
River Access - Dittisham
You can launch a tender from outside the Ferry Boat Inn, from the Ham or from Dittisham Sailing Club. All these options are free. It is just over 2km from Dittisham to our swinging moorings. Dinghy rack rentals on the pontoons at Dittisham are available from Dart Harbour
Car Parking - Dittisham
Limited parking is available outside the Ferry Boat Inn. However be aware this is tidal – you don’t want to have a photo of your submerged car joining the others on the wall In the pub!
There is a pay and display car park on the Ham and also free parking on the roadside further up the hill.
